It’s The CEO’s Fault

The CEO’s fault

Wha??

Bold words, I suppose. I’m not a CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation myself, so I don’t understand everything about building a company.

But I’ve spoken to other CEOs and big business owners and here’s what I interpret from the CEO who forgave a debt of over a million dollars to an employee who was down on his luck. (I started the story here.)

Every time the employee had a problem, he truly believed he was a victim of circumstance. The mentalities “It’s not my fault!” and “I didn’t deserve this injustice” only perpetuated his demise.

Now, instead of inspiring the man to create a new circumstance for himself, and encouraging him to create security and freedom as he was fully capable of doing, the CEO fed his victimhood, his dependency on circumstance, first by providing for him, and sustaining his finances over all those years – but second, by erasing the debt that had been built all those years… a debt built by a man who did absolutely nothing to change his circumstance.

Truly – to help a man such as that, the CEO should’ve restrained his monetary generosity, and give direction for his employee to seek the principles of success – the justice in how our thoughts give birth to our circumstance, and the wisdom to create a better life for himself.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.

Wallace Wattles says it too…

“Poverty can be done away with, not by increasing the number of well-to-do people who think about poverty, but by increasing the number of poor people who purpose with faith to get rich. The poor do not need charity; they need inspiration. Charity only sends them a loaf of bread to keep them alive in their wretchedness, or gives them an entertainment to make them forget for an hour or two. But inspiration can cause them to rise out of their misery. If you want to help the poor, demonstrate to them that they can become rich.”

I like that – people who purpose with faith to get rich.

That’s how we’re going to do it.

That’s why I’m here.

Let’s build the faith. :)

Gratitude for Needs Met

This is a story that I heard this week. I found the message quite fascinating about gratitude, gratefulness, mercy, and faith.

I am quite interested to hear what you guys think about it, and I’m going to be sharing my thoughts about it over the next few posts.
