Tribulations to Success

So, this is a momentous post for me.

Together, along with some of the greatest leaders I’ve had the joy of working with, I’ve succeeded in something which I set out to do nearly two months ago.

The goal was set.

The timeline was made.

I decided what I would give in order to achieve the goal.

I made a concise statement.

It was written down and put on my computer monitor.

With a white-hot burning desire, it become my laser-like focus every day.

And so, by following those Napoleon Hill’s six steps to success, and applying faith to every action I took, it happened.

Infusion.

Both the Infusion of my faith with action, but also the conception and creation of my first product, Infusion.

You can find it here:

Where there struggles? Absolutely. We had many difficulties to work around, and many tribulations to go through, but I was reminded constantly of something that’s found in “As A Man Thinketh” (one of my all time-favorite books ever) when it came to accomplishment.

There can be no progress, no achievement without sacrifice, and a man’s worldly success will be in the measure that he sacrifices his confused animal thoughts, and fixes his mind on the development of his plans, and the strengthening of his resolution and self-reliance.

and later on…

He who would accomplish little must sacrifice little; he who would achieve much must sacrifice much; he who would attain highly must sacrifice greatly.

So I bring this up, because here are all the things that stood in my way and circumstances that stacked against me…

  • No previous experience in creating my own, original product
  • very little knowledge about making a website
  • never have done any copy-writing
  • lost my entire blog (yes… what you see here disappeared for over a whole day)
  • a merchant account that didn’t accept credit cards
  • websites that wouldn’t link to order pages
  • moving my family from one part of the province, to another
  • extended family telling me that any money I make will be ill-gotten
  • having the new place we were to move in not be available to move into for close to two weeks, so having an impromptu camping trip, recording the bonus video in the middle of a rain storm.

But, had I descended to thinking patterns like, “Oh man… this is way too hard.” or, “why does this always happen to me?” or, “This’ll never work” (which by the way, was my pattern of thinking 12 short months ago….), it would’ve never come together.

What I had stacked in my favor was an unquenchable desire to see you benefit from the content. Infusion will set many people free. It’s not the magic-pill, but it will lead you to your magic pill.

Once you master infusing your faith with your action – and this convergence becomes a daily routine for you, anything you desire: relationships, influence, certainty, security, finances, can all be yours.

Even when circumstances are stacked against you.

Blessings…

And always

Simple Explanation

Two simple explanations, actually. :)

First, is of my absence. As many of you know, my family and I have moved from Whitecourt to St. Albert. The transition took a little longer than expected, but it’s all coming together. We just have to unpack now. :)

The second is of my last post: Backwards Blogging

- and the question I had about the phrase, “Ask, and you will receive”

Ryan Taylor.. new subscriber to the blog – had the most riveting comment about this, and so as promised, I am featuring his comment here…

Ryan has stepped out recently and made a blog over at potentialtolive.com. His content is fantastic and the wisdom he holds can project you to new heights.

Here’s what he says:

The translation is simple – Ask and you shall recieve. The complication to the simple action is in the consistency. You can’t ask for it once, twice, even a couple dozen times and expect it to show up. You have to ask for and live it. Live it in your actions, live it in your words, and live it in your mind. When coupled with time a singular focus, direction and commitment you will achieve anything you ask for.

Alternatively, if you ask and take little or no action steps you will recieve a very diluted version of your desires or something completely different because you have also asked for many others. This is what I see most often, which is a shortcut that doesn’t ever work.

Know you can achieve anything! When you ask for it you are really asking yourself and how you put it into motion is your answer.

Ryan, you’ve hit the nail on the head.

“Ask and you will receive” is one of those perfect sentences that sum up a lot of things. It’s also what I stand for.

In the course that I am releasing soon, I address this very issue. Here’s a diagram that I use to describe this idea of asking:

People have asked me time and time again what Carpe Fidem means. It’s this:
