Best ways to start a theological discussion

To start a theological discussion the best, just do what I did with my last blog entry. It will get you a huge boost in traffic (I got 35% more traffic in the last four days than the whole week before that!) and you won’t have a lack of comments! Two great suggestions I can make for you:

The #1 best way to start a theological discussion is to not intend to – and..

#2… inadvertently share your theology on things that get fundamental christians super upset.

So, today, I felt the need to give some explanation for my last post. It created a rather large upset with some people. I got some emails and Facebook messages that weren’t very nice (one was even obscene) Funny if you ask me… all coming from Christians… I thought they’d be a little more Christian about it!

Funny how that worked out! lol

But I know some of them will be quite open minded and be willing to read this post the whole way through.

So basically.. I argued against the need to beg to God for mercy because I fail to understand how something could be so ‘limited’ that we have to coerce the Divine to receive it.

First – let me say I’ve got nothing against prayer. People gathering for prayer is powerful. I endorse it fully. However, I despise the idea that prayer is a time where we feel bad and dwell on our regrets.

I know it happens out there, and that’s fine, but no amount of self-deprivation, groveling, wishing to relive the past, or feeling badly is going to be sufficient enough of a price to regain synchronization with our divine nature.

Besides.. don’t the same christians who encourage ‘begging’ for mercy also teach that God showed all the mercy we ever needed ions ago? – or was that price just ‘not enough?’ To me, it seems quite contradictory.

Either way you look at it, it’s incongruent with the belief that there is an abundance of mercy for us. That’s the blessing I’m saying is unlimited… that we don’t have to beg for…

If we beg, we’re just feeding that mentality of lack – that paradigm that infests the subconscious of the poor – “There isn’t enough”

So when it comes down to it, folks.. Please Understand.. Last week’s post was not about prayer, confession, repentance, or any other theological topic. It was about strengthening your faith in the abundance that surrounds us – and coming to a realization that the Global Day of Prayer video was NOT encouraging that belief (in fact – it was destroying it).

If there are still some theological concerns you have on this, I suggest you learn more by learning from people who study faith in the abundance they were created to partake in – and maybe remove yourself from some of that lack programming (absence of faith).

Since most of the negative people should be long gone by now, I commend you and thank you for being so awesome! Go ahead and comment about some of the lack programming you’ve received from growing up, religion, school, work… wherever! Remember – awareness is the key to greatness!

Global Day of Lack Programming?

This past Sunday was the Global Day of Prayer.

Now before you think I’m getting all religious with this post – I’m not. I’m getting a little spiritual.. and I’m also going to stretch your mind on some abundance mentality.

Global Day of Prayer.

I was kind of intrigued when I heard that people from many walks and faiths were gathering in places big and small to connect with the Source of all living things.

But. (yes… here is my but) I cringed when I saw the video at church on Sunday and heard how people were begging God for mercy.

The idea that God’s mercy is something that is so limited that when we pray, we have to beg for it in order for this God to bestow it upon us is so damaging – so destructive – and downright perverted.

If I was asked to follow a God like that – that I had to reach a certain level of insignificance and self-depravation in order to partake some goodness, I’d reject Him with every fiber of my being. You’d never see me in a church. I’d tell all those fundamental Christians with any similar lack-programming where to go.

There is no force that holds back mercy or any other blessings. They flow in, around, and through us on continual and in increasing ways every single day. No amount of groveling for it, no amount of working super hard, no amount of praying for it, no amount of wishing for it, (ok.. you get the idea) will increase that flow, nor any amount of evil we partake in reduce the flow.

We just need to line our thoughts, our emotions, and our lives up with it to receive it to the extent that we become free.

Anyway. No theological discussion here, but I feel it a great moment to now move on to the real reason for the post.

Riches. (Money, opportunity, healthy relationships, the list goes on)

There is no force that holds these things away from us. They flow in, around, and through us on a continual and in increasing ways every single day. No amount of groveling for it, no amount of working super hard, no amount of praying for it, no amount of wishing for it, (ok.. you get the idea) will increase that flow, and no amount of spending, lack of saving, and poor management will reduce the flow.

We just need to line our lives up with it to receive it to the extent that we become free.

Just so you know.

Just last post, I was talking about making a decision. Commit to a goal and tell yourself you’re not gonna mess around. When the going gets tough, you’re just going to need to be tougher.

And do it until you feel like it.

What do I really mean by that?

When you’re on a workout regime, things are gonna be a grind sometimes. Anyone who’s committed themselves to losing weight/gaining muscle knows this.

Of course, there are days they just don’t feel like going to the gym – but whether they know it or not – that’s the day they’re going to make some breakthroughs.

They don’t want to – but eventually, enough of those days go by… enough determination and perseverance pushes them through those days… and they get to the point where they are feeling great.. looking great.. and are the healthiest they’ve ever been.

Now when that off day comes, do they really have to go to the gym EVERY time?

Nope.

But they do it because they want to.

How about the business owner?

He will show up early.. and stay late. Tirelessly he pours his passion into his work, for weeks, months, or even longer – without an ounce of pay.

There are days he thinks, “What have I gotten myself into?” “I was making more working for peanuts!” “Will I ever breakthrough? (or even)”

But he presses onward – his vision for what’s possible keeps him focused. Eventually, his mastery pays for itself, time and time again.

Now, at that point, does he need to show up early and stay late?

Nope.

But he will many times… because he wants to.

When you decide to do something, you’ve got to dig deep. There are going to be days where you might be thinking… “Do I have to show up for every meeting?” “Must I get another training CD?” “Is it really necessary to call all those people?”

First, let me tell you that no.. you don’t absolutely HAVE to do all those things.

However, I encourage you to remember the leaders in your field/industry/company. They didn’t get there by chance or luck, and they sure don’t have to keep showing up.

But they do.

Because they want to.

And they got to that point because they never lost sight of their vision, their ‘why’, and their perseverance kept them going on those bad days.

That’s what You need to do!

Tell yourself when things aren’t going so well… when you know you’re doing the right thing, but you’re just not seeing the results you want.. and you’re wondering if it’s ever going to happen…

I’m gonna do it until I want to.
