The Hardest Work We Will Ever Do

Well now, I fully expect my company won’t let me conduct presentations or trainings if they ever read what I have to say here.

This whole home-based business business is tough stuff.

I mean, honestly. Success in this industry involves some of the most difficult tasks on earth.
For instance:

Learning all the stuff you don’t learn in school.

- think about it. When was the last time you went to a school and they taught you principles of wealth? How to build a network? How to become a leader? How to influence people? How to connect with people?

I know there are a few schools that touch base on these things, but there’s no degree, major, minor, or even so much as a course.

Work without pay.

- You’re going to work like you’ve never worked before, then on top of that, you’re not going to get paid. Think of it like a farmer’s field. He tills, plows, seeds, fertilizes, nurtures, prays constantly that the hail doesn’t destroy the crop, cut, shaft, bale, store, haul, all without getting paid. On top of that… after the deal is done, he still waits up to 90 days before payment is finally put into his account.

Way easier to be the hired hand, isn’t it?

There are even more reasons I could get into, but this next one is by far the most difficult task we face.

Faith, regardless of circumstance.

- Last month’s check wasn’t relative to the hours you put in, so how are you going to proceed this month? You’ve done 44 presentations in a row (my record) and all of them gave you a flat out ‘NO’ – why even bother going on the 45th?!?

Your gas tank is empty.. again.

You didn’t make money back on your last leads. Your last signup quit after his 2 of those 44 presentations.

Your family still doesn’t approve of your decision, your friends think you’re crazy, and your last boss calls you once every 60 days or so saying he can’t wait for your upline to get arrested so he can gloat as you come back with your tail between your legs begging for your old job back.

And yet, you can’t seem to shake the belief that you’re on the right track.

All around you, there is clear evidence that it’d be a whole lot easier just to admit you made a mistake this time and it’s OK – even justifiable to throw in the towel. You can hold your head up high. You’ve done more than what the average person would do.

And yet, you continue onward with the audacity that you can still win.

The gall to defy your surroundings and succeed.

In the words of Wallace Wattles from his book, The Science of Getting Rich,

To think according to appearance is easy; to think truth regardless of appearances is laborious, and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work man is called upon to perform.

All the courses we take, books we read, punches we roll with, stones that are thrown at us are insignificant to us keeping the faith.

Some believe because they see; Blessed are those who believe and do not see.

Here’s to getting rewarded for how hard we work.

Focus is everything.

It’s possible for only one person to make money in Network Marketing.

If you’re doing all the signups… if you’re doing all the leg work.. if you’re taking it upon yourself to be a Executive Director with Double Diamond super-intergalactic powers to sign up anyone with a pulse.

It all seems good, I know. Rollin’ in the bonus income like a pro… getting people on the product like a good little salesman/woman.

But all those people haven’t got the same signups.. they don’t have all the volume points, they’re blown away by your success and frankly.. just trying to figure out how they could just get their initial investment back.

Everything in this business (and in other things) rises and falls on leadership.

Help people get their money back within a couple of weeks.

Focus more on your reps’ checks than your own.

Get more people to their next promotion level faster.

If you do this, you will truly be employing the power of leverage… or as they say… loverage.

That is sustainable wealth.

This video gives an excellent illustration into my thoughts on leverage…

Remember… as you’re building out there… the words of Zig Ziglar..

Less is More, More or Less

There is a saying that goes, “Less people need to be like most people… and most people need to be like less people.”

This was something that truly confused me for about three days as I came to grips what was really being said.

I mean, I knew that the masses usually don’t have a clue when it comes to success, fulfillment, leadership, and the like. It’s evident when we see Kiyosaki’s Quadrant and the statistic that says 95% of the nation is working for money and controlling 5% of the nation’s wealth… and the other 5% of the nation has money working for them, and they control the other 95% of the wealth.

So, yes, obviously here, most people need to be like less people.

But less people need to be like most people. This phrase stumped me. Logically, I can’t agree that the smaller amount of people need to go out and be like the rest of the world.

Here’s what’s really being said. Most people are living each day just like the last. Most people have lives of mediocrity. Most people don’t push their comfort zone and build their dreams because they have the illusion that it’s more comfortable to build someone else’s.

We need less people like that. We need more who want to live each day like it’s their last, embrace a life of boundless possibility, and break barriers to build a legacy of their own.

The world is calling out for you to be great. Fulfill this demand, and you shall be like less people.

Blessings!
